Why in the WORLD did "Father of the Pride" stay in production after the Roy incident? I can't see that one at all.

Not only Michael Biehn, but Michael Biehn and Ivan Sergei in the same show. One could die of the pretty.... (I hope Ivan Sergei doesn't wear himself out; he's still going to be on Crossing Jordan, isn't he?)

Yes! AFAIK, Ivan isn't leaving CJ, but since it's such a big ensemble cast, and his role is usually pretty small, I'm guessing he can probably do both.
