Oscar nominations

Mostly as expected. Biggest surprises:
While Inception got eight nominations, Christopher Nolan did not get a Best Director nod.
No Supporting Actor nod to Andrew Garfield of The Social Network.
The reason, however, is the surprise Supporting Actor nod to John Hawkes for Winter's Bone and I WILL HAPPILY TAKE THAT (GO SOL!)
Waiting for "Superman" not nominated for Best Documentary.
Right now I think that, of Picture, Actor, Actress, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress, the only ones that aren't locked down are Supporting Actress and maybe Picture (Social Network was the front-runner, but the Producer's Guild just gave it to King's Speech and that's a huge indicator). Actor will be Colin Firth, Actress will be Natalie Portman, and Supporting Actor will be Christian Bale.
Adapted Screenplay will be Aaron Sorkin for Social Network. Original Screenplay is most likely David Seidler for King's Speech, but it could be a mild upset with Christopher Nolan for Inception because of the lack of a Best Director nod.
One random prediction: True Grit, with ten nominations, will be shut out.
Come back February 27th and see how I did!
