D.C. and D.C.-area people: an awesome fan coming your way, and she needs your advice!

A wonderful friend of mine is moving to D.C. (or the D.C. area) shortly, and is looking for housing and housing info. I'm reposting her locked post here (minus some personal info, adding some more stuff we've talked about) regarding what she's looking for, what she needs help with, and other stuff like that. She is one of the most lovely, delightful folks I have known in my life, so if you can help out at all (or are looking for a roommate!), reply here.
