Once the DL is complete, one can split the file into acceptably-sized segments with HJSplit and upload it to mediafire or megaupload or some such similar service...

I would be happy to volunteer to do that, although it make take a day or two.

Hmmmmm - Is HJSplit for Windows, and if so, what's a mac alternative. I bet I could do this with MPEGStreamclip. I don't have a megaupload account or anything, but I could definitely look into these options...
