So much to say, so few conscious hours

I have delusions of grandeur, from time to time, about the lj posts I want to make. I have a list on my computer of many current topics and concepts, but until I can get back to going to bed *before* 4am and waking up *before* 3pm, Big Brain Posts will have to wait.

Still, I want to drop a brief post about the wonderful dinner cesperanza hosted on Friday night while I was back East. It was so lovely to get to see some of my East Coast friends again, both old and recent (and to finally meet lyra_sena, lynnmonster, and miss_pryss face to face!), plus it was heaven to be in a fannish space after months of grad school space and three days of family space. Fandom (as Ces and I were chatting about early in the evening) has become more and more of a matter of self-identification for me and for her. Not that fandom is in any way more important than school or family (well, in most cases *g*), but that... sigh, as I alluded to in my subject line, I'm not mentally together enough to find all of the words I'd need to do justice to the thought. I'll simply say that listening to brilliant and talented and beautiful fannish women talk and debate and joke and laugh and plan was a terrific experience. You guys -- I *love* you guys!
