Dear Everyone in my Company:

I am the *only* person who works in the web department. Nobody else. No one. NO ONE. That means, there is no other person, anywhere in this company, from whom "Yes, http://www.xxx.com/assface/ is the proper address for your upcoming event, go ahead and print thousands of postcards with that URL on it" means SHIT.

Perhaps checking WITH THE WEBMASTER might be a good idea.

As far as I know, you can't just make up a URL and hope it goes to the right place. Call me pessimistic.

Kthxbai.

I know it doesn't help, but I'm sorry you work for maroons who make your life that much harder. And try to blame it on "someone." (It feels like you work with five-year-olds sometimes, doesn't it? "Did you do this?" "Someone told me to!")

Bwahahaha! My old Circ department tried that on me, by the end of the day I had them so whipped they let me approve all subsequent ads before printing.

This may not help, but this happens to us *all the time*. We even have a whole web *team*, but that doesn't stop the magazine, development, and advertising people from making up any ol' URL they want and printing it all over the place.

It never stops pissing me off, either.
