The show is now nothing but a heavy-handed soap opera. It's overdone like a roast left in the oven for a *week*. They've even managed to make John Spencer look like a bad actor.

Mary McCormack's character is a true Mary Sue, and to add insult to injury, she's in the opening credits.

I'm done.

I was debating whether or not I should give this season a chance. Thank you for saving me from a deeper pain even than that which I'm now feeling.

I'll have to leave a note and let my roommate know. She was thinking about watching it, but this might change her mind.

What got me was how OLD JS looked. I mean, when he started yelling, I expected teeth to be missing.

Yeah, the show has definately jumped over, swum under and hung off the dorsal fin of the shark.

Waldo.

Ugh. And, I actually am not watching anything opposite it this year. Oh well, at least Kevin Hill has a sexy man to oogle.

Yeah, he looked like he'd aged ten years since last season. And what crappy-ass writing. And the magical blonde who comes up with all the good ideas, who's new and young and smart but also clumsy and endearing!

Kill.

And the Josh/Donna stuff? Bite me.

Yeah, it's a damned, damned shame.

I'm trying to figure out why those traits in Sam in Season 1 and 2 were cute and amusing but in her they're just annoying. Maybe because he didn't seem to be trying so hard all the time. It was just who he was.

Oh, yeah, that's gotta go. I was really starting to wonder if the end of the ep was going to go into the whole BadFic realm of sex cures everything, even after being nearly dead.

Waldo.

It's more annoying in her than it was in Sam because they've clearly given her all these traits to force the audience to like her. "She's cute! She's smart! She respectfully disagrees! She knocks over coffee cups! SHE'S ADORABLE! LOVE HER!" Sam wasn't a new character being introduced to a cohesive unit by a crappy hack writer/producer.

I didn't watch most of last season, and made the mistake of turning it on tonight. What in the smegging frelling fucking HELL has happened to this show? Oh. That's right. John Wells.

It's horrrrrrible. I winced repeatedly.

And Mary McCormack? For Elvis' sake GET RID OF THE BANGS.

The only bright spot was Jason Isaacs. Yum.

Good point. They were all new, so we took them as they came. Klutzyness and all.

And there's something about the way you wrote the above that has me seeing her in a cheerleading outfit (midrif bearing, of course) with pom poms in the Oval Office cheering on the President.

I really need to go watch the end of UNCLE now.

Waldo.

Sigh. This happened to another show I liked years ago, Picket Fences and before that LA Law.

Oh well. I guess I'll just stick with "Lost" for a while.

And they wonder why we'd rather watch a 40 year old show. :)

Now, just watch, it'll probably end up in the top 5 every week. Viewers seem to be dying for evening soaps again, which supposedly accounts for the success of Desperate Housewives.

I'm glad I stayed away last night. Well, mostly. I snuck a few peeks and caught maybe two minutes total. What I saw wasn't horrendous, but it didn't make me want to stay, either.

Thanks for watching the whole ep and taking one for the team. I think you've saved a lot of folks a considerable amount of time and heartache.

I feel your pain, love. Let the true, final mourning commence.

I actually let myself get spoiled for the next few eps as well (which is a huge deal, as I'm the Holy Spoiler Virgin Mary), and it helps my resolve knowing things are only going to get worse.
