House - Sports Medicine.
Feb. 22nd, 2005 11:01 pmEveryone on my flist has already gone crazy, so I've gotta jump on that Crazy Bandwagon about tonight's episode:
holy Jesus on a bagel with a schmear, they're just handing it to us like you wouldn't believe. Or I guess you would, if you saw it. For those who don't know, this was supposed to air three episodes ago - so the progression goes: tonight's episode, then DNR, then Histories, and then last week's, Detox. So this is all good character stuff building *up* to the explosion in House's office, and not House and Wilson carrying on as if nothing happened. Unfortunately, they are airing them all out of whack. (Sekrit message to
terrio: I was wrong, you were right.) But from now forward, they should all be in the right order.
I'm sort of astounded at just how *much* they are giving us, and delighted at the same time. And the Irregulars talking about House's sex life? Priceless. And oh, House and Wilson's *faces* when they were all excited about the monster trucks! That was their own little fannish squee moment.
You know, even reading every single thing in this episode exactly as it's presented, rather than playing the slash game, it *still* allows us the idea that Wilson and House have an arrangement of sorts. And I'm happy with that. Of course, I'm happier with the fun slash-fandom places we're all going with it. Wow. Just... wow.
And so the drug rep is the woman Foreman was referring to in DNR when Marty asked if he's seeing anyone! Go Foreman!
So many priceless moments in this episode. And House and Cuddy have a fabulous sibling rivalry going on. I hope they never go anywhere romantic. I have fears about House and Cameron, but ... text never stopped subtext, and never will.
HOUSE!

Yes, but I still wish they wouldn't go the House/Cameron route. Bleh. But I guess I'd live. They're going to want a romantic interest at some point. You know what I keep thinking, though? One of these days, one of these slash-y shows is just going to have done with it and go there already. I wish today were that day. They totally should. Man, could you imagine the ratings?
Oh, and House assured Cameron that sleeping with the drug rep wouldn't have to mean she was gay "just adventurous." Is that what you tell yourself, buddy?

Date: 2005-02-23 12:35 pm (UTC)About the fannish pimping at Escapade--do you have eps to give to people? I have all the eps on my computer, and I would be happy to burn some pimpdisks for you. If you could tell me which three episodes were really the first two or three, I can burn those onto a cd. I can actually burn most of the season onto a DVD data disk, but I'm not sure if everyone can play them.
What do you think?

Date: 2005-02-23 01:22 pm (UTC)Interestingly, I read an interview with Hugh Laurie right before the show started in which he said, basically, the pilot is great, but I've been talking about it for so long, I just want you all to see some of the later episodes which I'm really happy with too. Specifically, he named episode nine, which they'd just finished, I think. Now, thanks to your link, I know this was episode nine! Crazy Fox people.
