I work at a tv and radio station complex. We have lots of guests come in and out of the building for appearances on news shows, and interviews, and performances (we film Soundstage here, which is syndicated nationally on PBS. Check your local listings. *g*).

Over the past three years, I've gotten to meet a lot of interesting people, from Tom Petty to Elie Wiesel to Art Spiegelman to Tori Amos to Kofi Annan... you get the point. A week from today, when I will not be at work because I will be lugging equipment from my home to the VividCon hotel and setting it up, who do you think will be here, getting ready to record a set for Soundstage?

Guess.

No. Really. Guess.

Give up?

30-Odd Foot of Grunts, the band which features Russell Crowe.

Russell. Crowe.

:looks pointedly at all of you:

I better get some GODDAMNED FREE DRINKS at VividCon this year, is all I'm saying.

Memes were not born on Livejournal, nor are they indigenous to fandom.

Memes are the basic building blocks of our minds and culture, in the same way that genes are the basic building blocks of biological life.

"Meme" rhymes with "dream" - it is not pronounced "mimi".

Memetics is a legitimate study, and has been for close to 30 years.
