tzikeh: (information angels - Renenet)
First of all, the yuletide assignments have gone out, and all I can say to that is that the panic is on - what is the sound of 315 fans screaming?

Listen closely; I think you can hear it.

Second (and this has nothing to do with the yuletide thing except that I remembered it by way of a discussion about writing fanfiction) - here is an essay about fanfiction, the fanfiction community's attitudes, and other interesting thoughts that I hadn't re-read in a while. Always something to come back to and think about in fandom, isn't there?

In the hope that my gifter might check in:

I will probably be happy with anything you write, because this is a gift.

Sex, no sex, happy, angsty, plot-heavy, plot-free, I don't really care. If you want to avoid things I would least enjoy, I suggest not killing off one of the characters (it is a holiday gift after all <g>) and not having them engage in B, D, S, or M (I'm pretty darned vanilla, I guess).

But if you feel confined by any of those dislikes, well, write what you're inspired to write - the story is likely to be better if you love what you're doing.
