House and Wilson: yes, yes, a thousand times, yes.

merryish has an entry here about the overwhelming tendency in House fanfiction to refer to Wilson as "Jimmy", especially when House and Wilson are getting romantic. She points out the only two places where the name "Jimmy" comes up in the canon and that they are both sarcastic.

Honestly, I don't know what House would call Wilson in bed, but I'm willing to lay money down that it's not "Jimmy". Until the show gives me House using the name "Jimmy" in seriousness, I'm gonna go with my gut that this wouldn't be the case. If he does, I will obviously revise accordingly (though I will do so cursing David Shore's name to the skies and rending my garments. Okay, maybe not rending. Washing delicates on regular, maybe.)

In the meantime, I say yes to my roommate's little rant, and ponder just what name House uses for Wilson when he doesn't use "Wilson". Heck, maybe they're like Mulder and Scully - I was willing to believe for a long time that, even in bed, they'd refer to one another as "Mulder" and "Scully" (or even "Mulder!!" and "Scullyyyyyyy...").

Anywho. What was I saying again? Oh. Yes. "Jimmy" is a good name for a small boy or an ice cream topping. Thank you and good day.
