Sunday Pet Peeve Post!

1) No more vids to "Bring Me to Life". Ever. Ever never never ever. Seriously. Or - no - let me revise. No more vids to anything by Evanescence, period. Close out of the editing program and back away.

Also? Learn how to spell the band's name.

2) When one friends an lj or joins a community, one should read the info page for that lj or community. It may not have anything important on it, but then again, call me crazy, it just might. That's why it's called the... wait for it... "info" page. One's chances of avoiding a flamewar or ending up ridiculed and ostracized are increased EXPONENTIALLY if one knows what the fuck one is getting into in the first place. Sheesh!

3) Stop trying to convince me that your particular version of why we like slash or why we write slash is correct, and PLEASE stop trying to tell me what slash fans are and aren't. I already know what they are and aren't: they are many and astoundingly varied; they aren't uniform. Thus it follows that "why slash" is an unanswerable question. So, here's a little "if:then" for you. IF your thesis paper on "why slash" isn't about how slash fans defy any attempt to categorize their reasons for being there, THEN your thesis paper sucks.
