Birthday!

Happy birthday to my fab roommate shrift (who is not nestra), who brings the snark when she gets home from work and brings the Real European French Bread when we have chili-and-tv nights. I sense tasty James Bond and tasty restaurant-of-your-choice in the near future.

Screen Actors' Guild nominations

The SAG Awards ceremony is often (and by "often" I mean "always") the most boring televised awards ceremony, but I love the SAG Awards for two reasons:

1) the nominations and the winners are voted *by actors only*, who have, you know, a little bit of insight about what makes a good performance; and
2) the SAG awards have "Best Ensemble" awards, which the Emmys and the Oscars sorely lack.

SAG awards cover both movies and tv, and even though Battlestar Galactica and The Wire missing (you stupid fuckers, WATCH Mary McDonnell and Edward James Olmos and tell me they don't deserve some recognition, and please, television ensemble? The Wire is the *epitome*), I still love the list this year. So, for them as what cares:

The SAG Awards will air live on TNT and TBS on Sunday, January 28. No clue what time.
