tzikeh: (question - inquiry - bafflement)

I've had my digital camera a long, long time. It is (*was*) a Canon PowerShot S230 digital ELPH. It took photos and video. It came out in 2002. It is now an ex-camera.

(I crack myself up.)

I don't need anything fancy; I'm the worst photographer ever. From what I understand, new models have a swivel screen so you can see what you're shooting without having to torque your body around.

This one had a 3 Megapixel CCD imager for up to 2048x1536 pixel images; a 2x optical 35-70mm f/2.8-4.0 zoom, and a 1.5" color LCD with up to 10x playback zoom.

I have no idea what any of that means.

Any suggestions for a decent digital camera w/video option for someone who just wants photos that are of a better quality than those taken with her phone? I don't want anything too expensive, since I don't have plans to become the next Ansel Adams.
