Sergey Larenkov has been taking photos that are perfectly aligned with contemporary photos of the Siege of Leningrad, and then blending the results.

( The two photos that grabbed me most: it looks like the train is steaming from the past into the present, and the pedestrian is about to walk down the street from the present into the past. )
