Slash =! sex
Oct. 5th, 2010 11:10 amSlash is a genre; sex is an act. "Pre-slash" is now employed to mean "before the characters have sex."
This is incorrect.
George Carlin had a routine about "pre":
"'Preheat the oven to 350 degrees'." Bullshit. The oven is either heated, or it is unheated. "'Heat the oven to 350 degrees'." Perfectly understandable. At the airport, they ask first-class passengers and passengers who need assistance to 'pre-board'. What does that mean? You get on *before you get on*? Pre is a meaningless fucking term."
Either a story is in the slash genre, or it isn't. It doesn't have to have sex in it to be in the slash genre.
This annoys me.
As you were.
