Winter boot suggestions, please
Jan. 20th, 2011 12:12 pmMy awesome and spectacular Ecco boots have given up the ghost after 20 years, and Ecco no longer makes them. So I must venture forth and find a new pair of winter boots that have the three qualities my Ecco boots had:
1) Warm. Really, really fuckin' warm.
2) Waterproof.
3) As good a tread for ice as exists on boots. Ice is ice, and there's only so much a boot can do, but some are much better than most.
My Ecco boots laced up to about three inches above the ankle (kind of like this), and I'm looking for the same (if it's closer to the calf than the ankle, it's too high for me). If you've got a pair of boots that fit the bill (that cost less than $150), please comment! And a link to a site where I can purchase them would be great.
Note: the boots do not have to be anywhere near pretty. Don't care. Warm, waterproof, and as good on the ice as can be is all I require.
