While the likelihood of this oft-promised movie getting made is "I'll believe it when I see it on opening day", this is still good news:

Tom Cruise is not Ozymandias in Watchmen movie.

He was is negotiations for the role. It didn't work out, so they're still looking for their Ozymandias.

Watchmen completely redefined the superhero comic when it came out, so it helps to know what superhero comics were like before 1986-1987, but it's not vital to understanding what you're reading.

Time magazine listed it as one of the 100 Greatest English-Language Novels. I hope you enjoy it. ;)

Tom Cruise. Watchmen. Two things that should never exist in the same universe together. Whew.

Of course, I'm still having problems with the concept of Watchmen</> and movie...

Tragically, it has come round from being dated to being horribly relevant again. So, as awful as it may be, the time is ripe for a movie version.

If Tom Cruise had actually been given the role of Ozymandias, I... I... well, I don't know what I would've done, but it would've been drastic.

Oh my God. That's like, when a humungous asteroid whizzes right between us and the moon, or something. It would take multinational effort and nuclear strikes to protect us from Tom Cruise as--

No, I can't even type it.
