shrift is taking a midday nap. My cat Artemis (see icon), who hates everyone in the entire world except me (although sometimes I'm not even sure about that), is curled up next to her head, with her paws on her arm, fast asleep. This is like finding an image of The Virgin Mary in a bowl of Spaghettios. If I didn't think it would wake shrift, I'd take a picture.

I read that wrong at first-- instead of "This is like finding an image of The Virgin Mary in a bowl of Spaghettios" I read "This is like finding The Virgin Mary in a bowl of Spaghettios."

Which, to be fair, would be pretty darn unusual too! For a moment there, I was picturing something like Botteceli's Venus, except it was Mary, and instead of rising on a clam shell from the sea, she was rising on a soup bowl from an ocean of Spaghettio sauce.

Yeah. It's a slow day.

Also, I'm sure I've said this before, but wow Artemis looks like our beastie. (The picture in this icon was taken when she was a kitten; today she's a creamsicle cat with a big fluffy ruff. Is Artemis part Turkish Angora, by chance?)

I have no idea -- I found her wandering the streets and after a few days took her in. The vet has her down as "domestic longhair". Her eyes are not SATAN'S OWN DEMONIC FELINE black as they are in the icon, but rather a nice yellowy-green. Yours looks like she has blue eyes?
