I have two screen caps from the same episode of Doctor Who (spoiler-free - just facial expressions, no spoilery sets visible). Both of them were filmed on the same stock, but in post-production one scene was given a blue filter an one was given a yellow filter. Is there any way to change the yellow filtered cap, in photoshop, so that the tones, hues, and shadows are the same as the blue filter? Make them look like they are in the same place, visually?

Yep, easily done. For a simple tweak, select the Hue/Saturation Layer Adjustment and move the Hue slider until things that are yellow look blue.

For fine-tuning (and I could do this for you if you like), you want the Selective Color Layer Adjustment, which will allow you to tweak colors independently of one another (for example, making all the yellows blue, but leaving the whites yellow, as the highlights on Jack's face are).

Googling either of these layer adjustments will bring up handy tutorials.

Yes. You can use the color information from one file to match the color of two different pictures....

Open both files in Photoshop; select the picture you want to change. In the Menu, choose Image ->Adjustments ->Match Color. When the box opens, you'll see the picture you chose. Go to the section called Image Statistics, and click the drop-sown labeled 'Source'; change it to the other picture (the one that is the color you want).

You can adjust the photo using the options in the box if needed, then click 'OK', and presto-chango, your pictures are now the same colors!

I'd really like to learn how to do this, if you're around to chat....

FYI, given your explanation that they come from the same episode, I've now been spoiled. I should have known better than to click!

Wow, I'm really sorry. They're from last week's episode and they're just faces -- I didn't realize this would be spoilery. I apologize again.
