From The Note, ABC's online political division:

"We Can Make Him Stronger, Faster - Howard Dean IS the Six-Million Dollar Man"

This past week has been insane - and the campaign has exceeded *everyone's* expectations. Pundits, reporters, political commentators - all are astounded, flummoxed, scrambling to make sense of it.

I helped do this. I posted and posted and posted about Dean in my lj. I sent money. I attended Meet-Ups. I'm seriously involved in politics for the first time in my life.

I feel strong.

The little seed of hope sprouts a tiny green shoot. C'mon Dean...help me believe again.

Oh, how I wish I could go to the Roxy! As it is, though, this is great, great, great news. I read the flabbergasted article in the Times today and thought of you --

Could you take a ticket to the Roxy thing as a gift?

I went to a meet-up and voted for him in the MoveOn.org primary, but I don't feel strong yet. Possibly I would if I had money to give the campaign. (:

But I *am* hopeful for the first time in many years. It feels good.

Isn't it great? And kudos to you for picking such a fantastic candidate to start off with! I only wish there'd been someone like Dean on the national scene when I started getting involved...

It's a tremendous relief to have a Democratic candidate I can support and believe in this time around. Lots of the local folks who supported Nader last time around (including myself) have been utterly delighted to feel welcomed (rather than hounded, guilt-tripped, or taken for granted) by someone in the Democratic party. Long may it last.

I've had such a busy weekend and I'm exhasted and should go home and get some rest tonight but I'm too damn excited about going to The Roxy and seeing the man speak!

It's the first time I've ever given money to a political campaign - it's the first time I've ever felt a real *need* to get more involved. And I never ever would have checked out his campaign without the LJ buzz that you and others had going. This really is gonna be a new kind of election, isn't it?

Man, I hope so.

Dean is the man. Tonight, while other candidates are making last-minute calls for contributions, he's going to a gay bar in downtown Manhattan.

He is my Real-Life Political Boyfriend.

Yeah, it does. And frightening. But good, above all.

Word is spreading... another person on my friendslist just commented on my entry that she'd donated as well, because of the word spreading here on LJ.

Go Dean!

People power! This is what it's always supposed to have been about.

I just went by deanforamerica.com to check on the total. $700,000 in contributions today, which actually makes him the SEVEN million dollar man.

Cool.

I saw your posts about Dean while reading friends' friends lists and that's how I first found out about him. Since then I've donated and passed the word on to other people, so go you!

Excellent! Thanks for letting me know - it all seems ephemeral. I mean, I know people are finding out and that some of it is due to me, but I love hearing it all the same.
