I need suggestions for songs about:

yams
sweet potatoes
pineapple
tuna
oysters

1) Anyone got the recording of Miss Piggy singing "Santa Baby"?

2) Anyone got anything else that is sung solo by Miss Piggy?

3) Anyone have a recording of the 1973 animated Charlotte's Web who can rip "Zuckerman's Famous Pig" for me?

4) Still taking suggestions/help with songs about pigs (or sung by pigs) and songs from hawai'i (or about hawai'i)

Best I can offer you this time is a Leslie Fish song about oyster pirates to the tune of "Streets of Laredo."

I have a couple of potato-related songs, but both are about the Idaho type.

I'm... afraid of what that might be.

The proper name is “Grunt: Pigorian Chant from Snouto Domoinko de Silo". It was the Boynton response to "Chant."

Seriously. Not stfnal at all; it's a lament (funny but sad) that the pickings aren't as good as they used to be because of pollution.

There was a song called "The Pig Must Die" from The Hunting of the Snark musical (Mike Batt, 1987), which I believe was sung by Roger Daltrey of all people... Unfortunately I have no idea where you could get this, since the CD is long out of print and going for about 7 pounds plus shipping on Ebay.

Unfortunately I can't help you (the only pig-related songs I can think of on the top of my head are anti-police punk songs and protest chants, like Slime's "Bullenschweine"), but I just have to say that your music needs are very odd.

hee!

Every New Year's Eve my friends host a dinner party with a theme. My job is to make the iPod playlist. This year it's a luau in honor of our Hawai'ian President-Elect. :D Usually we have more dishes with more ingredients so I have a broader playlist, but this year it's... well, roast pig. And a few little things on the side.

Don't you have to bury it or something to roast it in a pit for a luau? How does that even work indoors?

Yes, but I don't know how to get it to you.

Well, you could zip it and upload it to someplace like sendspace, or you could email me a few mp3s of your choosing, one at a time, or if you have a web server, you could put it there for me to download...

Santa Baby, as performed by the fabulous Miss Piggy. (http://www.sendspace.com/file/ldxfls) There's one other track off the same album that's just her singing ("The Christmas Queen") and a duet between her & Kermit ("A Red and Green Christmas"), which I can also upload if you're interested.

The song "It Couldn't Please Me More," from Cabaret, is all about the pineapple that Herr Schultz has given to Fraulein Schneider. Course, you may very likely have this one slotted already, especially since she sings, "I can hear Hawaiian breezes blow". ("It's from California," he replies. Heh.) Sorry I don't have the track myself, but someone out there must!

Enjoy luau!

Decades ago, I heard a song on the radio (maybe on Prairie Home Companion?) that went something like, "Surrounded by acres of clams, ah-ahms, surrounded by acres of clams. [something something] condition, surrounded by acres of clams."

From: [identity profile] bentleywg.livejournal.com
Found it. Unfortunately, the clams don't come in until the very very end.
