One more important note about Dreamwidth invites

Getting an invite does not mean you have a free account. Come May 1, all of us will have to pay for our accounts, whether monthly, yearly, or whatever. The folks who are there with invites are *only* there to help the staff test everything.

I'm pretty sure this is incorrect.

Basic account are free. Which is what we'll have after April 30 if we don't pay.

Invite codes are only to help control the number of people joining.

According to Denise, everyone has to pay the $3 for the first month. Then, after the first month, if they choose not to pay another $3, their account is free.

That's if you don't have a code.

If you get a code, you can make an account for free.

Either you pay, which is fine with the DW because it maens they get money, or you can use a code, which is free but that's okay with DW because the number of free accounts is controlled.

If you do not have an invite and want to join the site anyway, then on April 30th, you can buy a new paid account, and therefore get an invite. After your paid time has elapsed, then you'll revert to a free account.

If you get an invite through other means, then you have a free account.

Okay - I know how I got the information goofed up. I imported my lj, including all 122 icons, by changing the status of my dw account to "premium". In order to keep my icons and privileges, on May 1 I have to pay for the premium account, or it reverts to free.

Your polls don't seem to have migrated; rather, there is a link to each original lj poll on their corresponding dw posts.

Still, the fact that you managed to get seven years worth of lj posts mirrored with seemingly minimal fuss is rather spiffy. I'm looking at dw myself now since it seems to be more extensible than lj. (On there now with the prosaic name hubbit.livejournal.com , presuming I can snag plain old 'hubbit' when paid accounts open up.)
