Lord of the Rings Trilogy Marathon on December 16 / 17

I thought most folks knew this, but apparently I was wrong. So here's a link to full info -

Starting the week of Dec. 5, the extended DVD cut of "Fellowship of the Ring" will be released in some 100 or so theaters in the U.S. and in 20 theaters in Canada.

Then, the week of Dec. 12, sequel "Two Towers" will unspool, just a month after having preemed on DVD, leading up to a worldwide Dec. 16 daylong marathon, during which all three films will be shown back-to-back. Exhib guidelines call for a 3 p.m. showing of "Fellowship" followed by a 7 p.m. screening of "Two Towers" and then an 11 p.m. screening of "Return of the King," which will carry over into Dec. 17 -- the day of its global release.

I knew they were going to do the all-day marathon, but it's good to see how they are going to do it. Cool! My butt may never forgive me by 2am, but cool *g*

And, oh, my, is that poster great. Blood! Dirt! Blood! Loverly! And I keep thinking about the people who thought Two Towers was too dark...

Y'know, I tried to pull that poster up last night, and Legolas fainted. (Power flickered, I assume he just didn't like that, but it was sort of funny, on reflection.) Then he refused to connect back to the internet for the rest of the night. Bloody hobbits are just plain traumatic to him, it seems.
