Greg Dyke, director general of the BBC, has announced plans to give the public full access to all the corporation's programme archives.

Mr Dyke said on Sunday that everyone would in future be able to download BBC radio and TV programmes from the internet.

It's like Wonka opening up the factory to the public. It's like... no, you know what? I was gonna go for the rhythm of topper humor with three similes in a row, but there is nothing this is more like than Wonka opening up the factory to the public.

Man, give the gay people some civil rights in a few countries, decriminalize some sexual behavior, and look what happens! Free hot and cold running culture! It's *insanity*!
