One day, when I am independently wealthy, I will have a room just like this in my home (cleaned up, of course, with comfy furniture, my grand piano, and a skylight where the hole in the ceiling is):

Tell me you don't want this.

I want this so badly, I'm about to cry. Oh my god, why are rooms like this not available to every human on the planet? WHYYYYY?

That is awesome. If I had a room like that, I think I could quite happily spend hours and hours in it. It would be like a cross between a library and an arboretum. Where's the pic from?

Since everyone is asking, I've added a link to the site where I found it to the post, in case you want to go browse photos of amazing library rooms (both from private homes and public libraries and bookshops all over the world).

My favorite scene from Disney's Beuty and the Beast?

When he shows her the library that she can use. ♥

*bookmarks the site for later when I have a few minutes hours days*

This photo was my wallpaper at work a few years ago and it's still in rotation on my home wallpaper. I love it.

That looks vaguely like it ought to be the set for a theatrical play or something. Any info on where it's located?

Oh, that link is like balm for my soul. Now I can spend even more time planning my dream library for when I win the lottery and build my new house.

Why is it that most photos of bookshelves almost only contain classic books and/or old editions? Or they're all arranged and organzied all pretty-like instead of just random piles? I hardly ever look at these pictures and go, "Hey, I've got that one!" On my lesser days, it makes me feel like I'm stupid because I'm not reading the "right" books. (Although, now I want to take pictures of my bookshelves, in all their unmatchy glory to compensate.)

Oh, that is absolutely stunning. And looks like something from a children's book that I desperately want to read. Thanks for posting!

This makes me want to reread Beauty by Robin McKinley. It has book!porn and library!porn in the same vein as the Disney movie.

I want that...with the books replaced with TV DVDs (and some movies scattered in) and a huge big screen TV on the side.

I think I had a room like that in a dream once.

ETA: Also, that site does not make me cry. It makes me smile. Because it gives me hope. :-)
