This video is the first thing I have ever officially reblogged on tumblr, because I want to keep it FOREVER. It's like, at first you are giggling because of the British pronunciation of "jaguar" and "aluminium" and then he keeps saying things like "thrust" and "responsiveness" and basically the entire list of "Adjectives that could be about a car, but might also be about how I'm going to fuck you senseless," and I turned into a tiny little quivering ball of jello, seriously.

"Strong and rigid" is about when I started flipping out, personally. Can you imagine being the writer??? You must spend the first half of your day just getting all the giggling over with.

I was just thinking that the writer must have gone berserk when he or she found out Cumberbatch was doing the gig. They must have looked back on what they'd written and just fallen all over their office in glee.

"Strong and rigid" was when I just died, too. It's the way he emphasizes those words, absolutely shameless about driving the double entendre home. I wonder how much he laughed at the text and himself between takes? *g*

I believe original credit for the "jaguar in a cello" phrase goes to Times reviewer and Cumberbatch superfan Caitlin Moran (it appeared in her description of BC when reviewing "Sherlock").

Oh, I can't claim that phrase, unfortunately ;) The entertainment reviewer from the Times UK coined it:

"He’s lavishly, wonkily beautiful, 900ft tall, has a voice like a jaguar hiding in a cello, and would clearly be able to work out in a second what a 15 per cent tip should be – even if the total were tricksy, such as an odd number, or ended in 78p or something."
