Nostalgia for the Best. Ass. Ever.
Mar. 14th, 2004 10:05 pmI've been having a Wild Wild West renaissance recently, and it occurred to me that my icon stable was missing something. Something like an ass. When one's fandom has the greatest ass ever to grace the small screen, one shouldn't waste the opportunity to make a very small picture of said ass and show it to people, is what I say.

Date: 2004-03-15 03:18 am (UTC)Amen, sista! Preach it! And it's not like there haven't been some valiant contenders -- young Shatner in his day was nothing shabby in that department, and Peter Wingfield's got the long legs+saunter+great ass tripple whammy. And yet? None can quite threaten the title, I'm afraid. None can wear the pants the way he could. Ah, yes, Jim's ass. *gets nostalgic*

Date: 2004-03-15 06:28 am (UTC)Well, okay, accept a whole lotta substitutes, but you know.
That's a pretty good ass, all right.

Date: 2004-03-15 09:03 am (UTC)But I'm still putting in a vote for John Crichton's wet leather clad ass.

Date: 2004-03-16 01:10 pm (UTC)The last week or so I've been having serious W3 cravings, breaking out my beta tape and braving ff.net for stories.
Your icon nicely provides a brief fix. :)

Date: 2004-03-16 02:10 pm (UTC)I very much enjoy a lot of the stuff on this page: http://www.allslash.org/w3/
...which has stories by Taliesin, for one (a long-time and excellent WWW writer), as well as Liz Ellington, whom I can also heartily recommend. The site is associated with the WWW slash list on Yahoo, sin_and_salvation, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sin_and_salvation/join .
PR Zed's WWW fiction can be found on her site, on this page: http://przed.com/fic/www/index.html
Also fun is the "Writer's Guide to the Wild Wild West," at the site for the "Gentlemen Never Tell" series of zines, at http://users.frii.com/wanderer/writerguide.html.
On LJ, you might also enjoy these slashy (and often frickin' hilarious) recaps of various episodes (by one of the s_and_s members), at: http://www.livejournal.com/users/misssunbeam/
Sorry, might have gone a little nuts there. But a renaissance deserves links!

Date: 2004-03-16 06:22 pm (UTC)I wish the show was out on DVD. As it is, I have the entire series on tape so I can watch it when ever I feel like. A few weeks ago, I watched a couple dozen episodes.
mmmmmmmm WWW marathon! Now I feel like getting out more of those tapes!
