I taped Angel and watched The West Wing. Let me just say that I hated this episode. I can see Jed and Leo having a disagreement on policy, but this seemed so fraught with something more. As if this wasn't just a disagreement about what course of action to take, but something that could tear them apart. Whether one looks at them through slash colored lenses or not, it's undeniable that they have been very close friends and that they rely on each other. This was...not of the good.

But I have to say that for much of this season I've thought Leo was acting like some kind of pod-person. Hopefully over the summer they'll bring the real Leo back and all will be right with the world.

Let me just say that I hated this episode.

Well, then, we disagree. :-D

I don't know that it would do any good for me to go into all the reasons why I loved this episode, and don't think Leo's been a pod person at all, and that this was fraught with something more and that something more is important and true and vital, and that I think it was all of the good. If you're interested, I'll reply, but I don't want to if it's just gonna make you pissed off.

It's not going to piss me off at all. In fact, the more I've thought about the episode the more I realize that I don't really hate it. I'm ambivalent and would love to be convinced that all of this was of the good. I really don't think it would take that much.

Gah, of course you'd say "Yes, convince me!" when it's past my bedtime. ;)

Can you wait 'til tomorrow? I'll be coherent then...

ROFL!!

No problem, since it's past my bedtime as well and I need to head that way myself. Because really you have all summer. :-) Sleep well!

I'm a watcher and totally not into the SV fandom so okay, I'll bite -- who are Jed and Leo?

Jed is more commonly referred to as "Mr. President" on The West Wing. Leo is his Chief of Staff.

Dude - I'm HAVING THE FANNISH FREAKOUT!!

This ... was like ... heaven, and hell, all in one... I am SO MUCH ABOUT THE LOVE AND THE ANGST AND THE HISTORY AND ...AAA!!!

It was just - I didn't know whether to giggle madly or bawl my eyes out. It was so . . . "skjhfsdl" is the only word for it, basically.

The whole episode (in terms of Jed/Leo - what was the rest of it about?) was so, so heartachey, but it was that last scene that completely tore me up. Can't wait for next season, if only to see how they resolve this.

I loved it SO. MUCH.

The angst! The good, solid, grownup angst! With the politics and the boundaries and the change, and the struggle between pragmatism and idealism, and the way the job has affected them.

And the love! With the beaming and the I can't do this without you, and Leo's hand gripped to his heart sending that silent message.

And...the "Jed!" You know these writers have been paying attention, to give that line the kind of enormous, climactic, dramatic heft they gave it. Because yep, that was a Big Frickin' Deal for Leo, to burst out with that.

Ahhhhh. I'm going to be basking in this one allllll hiatus. Happy me.

Oh, honey. Ow. Ow ow ow ow ow. Oh my goodness, ow. That was beautiful in it's painfulness. In a different way from the beautiful-in-its-painfulness-ness of my other Wednesday finale insanity, but still. My goodness.

you're gonna have to give me a couple of hours. It's not a single thing -- it was the whole episode.
