Many of you probably already know about the Humax TiVo/DVD-R which was announced earlier this week:

80 hour TiVo with built-in DVD Recorder for $399.

What they *didn't* tell you is that there is also a more expensive version:

HUMAX TiVo® Series2 Digital Video Recorder w/300-Hr. Capacity & USB Connectivity for $665.

*checks to see how many shopping days til ... aw, fuck it, gimme NOW*

It should work with any kind of receiver. Lots of people have Dish and TiVo.

Wow. 300 hour? That's a lot of Celebrity Poker Showdown!

I am tempted by the 80 hour with the DVD Recorder, though. But since I spent about that much on my car last week, I don't see it happening any time soon. *sigh*

Gah. I realy want a TiVo with DVR.

But the dough is simply not there. So I'll continue to enjoy our wee little 40-hr DirecTV TiVo for now...

I was just considering getting another Tivo (the $99 w/rebate version), but now I think I'm going to hold out for this one.

does the 80 hr version have 1 or 2 USB ports? A firewire output would be nice - but I don't see that on the horizon yet.

Hm - I don't know. And yeah, I'd love a fw output. Fat chance...

I don't believe the 300-hr has the dvd recorder? I mean, if it did, no question which I'd jump for. If I jump. Which is still in question. But it's just advertised as a 300-hr DVR?

Duh, never mind. *g* My day off! No brain! You were there! eeee.

It should have the recorder. I should not have to choose. Also, it should just upload directly to my brain.
