Our Man Will Bailey was on one of his Campus Hillel stops this week and an Aint it Cooler was there to hear him talk about Jewishness, poker, and most of all, how the show misses Sorkin:

During an autograph session that followed the speech, someone asked about how Will had gone from being such an optimistic "Mr. Smith" character to being the guy who defends a VP of dubious moral fiber. Malina sighed and said "I used to make it rain."

Boy, does that sum it up for me.

*sigh* I loved him because he was a weather mage. (Okay, no. I loved him because I still have a huge-ass crush on Jeremy Goodwin and it keeps transferring.)

You know, the sad thing is I'm just so happy that it's been noticed that Will's character was completely flushed down the crapper for no apparent reason whatsoever.

Not that all the other characters haven't been written horribly either, but Will joining up with the VP was the first bit about s5 I heard.
