Okay first of all holy cow, they are so, so married, and I am falling for them more each week. The slash! And the angst! And the slash! And the angst! And the puppy-dog eyes and the blue, blue eyes. And the two of them playing the Irregulars with the drawing ("Water is October, right?" "Obviously.")
I would say it's mostly fair to assume that House has known Wilson for less than nine years, since otherwise he may have heard about the brother. I mean, it's possible that he knew him before then, but they probably weren't close.
I'm also glad we finally lost a patient, that they got to the diagnosis too late. I wonder if there will be fallout in Foreman's storyline - if he hadn't been obstreperous and recalcitrant at the beginning, they might have caught it earlier. Not likely, I guess, but still.
And oh my goodness does WIlson's backstory lend itself to hurt/comfort ... not to *mention* next week's set-up ... wow.

Date: 2005-02-09 06:26 pm (UTC)Heeeee! I *loved* that. "My goodness! Was she all right?" And then the disdainful look Wilson shot the ducklings when the clue finally dropped.
They make such an excellent comedic double act. "Get me some thin mints." Hee!

Date: 2005-02-09 10:11 pm (UTC)That woman was dead before she even made it to the hospital: she was already symptomatic. Only one non-vaccinated person has ever survived rabies once symptoms appeared, and that was late last year (and they had to induce a coma to do it). Several other people who were vaccinated but developed rabies anyway have also survived, but only about 5 of them. So it's not so much that they got the diagnosis late as that even if they'd psychically determined it upon her crossing the door of the ER, she would've died in any case.
It's not all that satisfying to me to have them pre-defeated.
They did lose one of the babies, though, remember.

Date: 2005-02-10 02:37 am (UTC)I thought House playing with the grad students was the best. "Treat everyone as if they had Korsikov's Syndrome" indeed.
I'd been using the term "ducklings" from Television Without Pity, but I really think I like Irregulars better, especially after his miracle diagnosis based on the Polo icon.
