House episode order and fanfiction recs
Feb. 23rd, 2005 10:01 amFor those who would like to watch in the proper order, and not the Fucked-Up FOX order, here is the production order. Much more sense to be had in character progression this way (you can go to http://www.tvtome.com/House/eplist.html for clickable episode descriptions and other info):
Pilot (aired 1st)
Occam's Razor (aired 3rd)
The Socratic Method (aired 6th)
Maternity (aired 4th)
Paternity (aired 2nd)
Damned if You Do (aired 5th)
Fidelity (aired 7th)
Poison (aired 8th)
Sports Medicine (aired 12th)
DNR (aired 9th)
Histories (aired 10th)
Detox (aired 11th)
A few recs for fanfiction I've enjoyed thus far:
Surcease, by
marzilla. Missing scene from Detox. Exactly what I needed. ;)
Maryland, by
astolat. Wonderful, subtle, suspenseful without too much desperation.
Tumor by
always_winter. Terrific voices and no, nobody has cancer. :-D
Euphoria, by
basingstoke. Begun before Detox, abandoned after, posted anyway. ;) Hilarious.
Pathogenesis and Intervention, by
astolat. Stand-alone story, complete. Just outstanding.
The History of the World by
always_winter. A chronicle of the relationship, with James' marriages as demarcation.
And I don't usually recommend stories that aren't complete, but I am enjoying reading "Safe from Harm", currently on part 5 of ? (God, I hate that convention). It's by
mayatawi and can be found at
housefic by scrolling back to part 1 - I think it's only one page-skip away.
If you have seen/read any other stories on par with these and can rec them to me, I'd be much obliged!

Re: Oh, and....
Date: 2005-02-23 05:44 pm (UTC)It really, really, really is. Dude.
Am in a huge comics mode at the moment. Need to borrow From Hell and V is for Vendetta next, and I'm hitting Tara up for Hellblazer (still waiting on Sin City from Dave, too, 'cause he's getting the collections).
What else do you have (besides Cerebus, which I don't think I'm going to do) that I should read? I must take advantage of the library of Jessica while I still can!
Also, are you doing the Oscars on Sunday?
Re: Oh, and....
Date: 2005-02-23 05:53 pm (UTC)Um... I have the first 12 issues of Promethea, which are gorgeous to look at and interesting enough if not supremely compelling, I have Persepolis, and Batman Year One, which is worth reading, and... hm... do I have Kingdom Come, or ... I think Tara has that. As for Cerebus, yeah, you're probably not going to make it all the way through, but then the first five collections are really the best of the lot (and *very* worth reading), so you could just read some of it.
When I get back from the con, we can do a swap of Transmet and my Blackadder DVDs for the other stuff!

Date: 2006-04-24 12:35 am (UTC)I'd never really worked out the production numbers thing on TVTome, but it makes so much sense now.
I'll have to rewatch House again, now, having got halfway through the season this week on DVD order.
