I'm sick. merryish is sick. You know what's better than being sick? Being sick *and* getting your monthly fun on the same day. I lose at life. Life - 1, tzikeh - 0.

So today? Merry and I are in the living room, curled up on various pieces of very comfy furniture, hugging our blankies, eating Cream o' Wheat and watching Deadwood. (I managed to hook Merry on Deadwood um... rather rapidly.) We'd gotten up to "The Trial of Jack McCall" before we had to stop last time; so naturally today's kick-off episode is "Plague".

Going through Deadwood a third time, now. How much do I love this show? THIIIIIIIS MUCH.

Grate about 1 inch fresh giner into a tea pot and steep for ten minutes in boiling water. Strain and add 2 tblspns lemon juice, honey to taste and a pinch (literally a tiny pinch) of cayenne pepper. It's like Thera-flu but it really and genuinely works. You can leave out the cayenne if you aren't stuffed up. I seriously can't rave enough about how well this works when you're sick. pun gave me the recipe a couple years ago and I've been devoted ever since.
