Back to rip/capture -- I don't think they are *really* enemies so much as they *think* they should be and actually, they have a lot on common and what reads initially as enemy slash is actually just really prickly buddy/slash. Like Angel/Spike.
God, Rip just wants to one day *be* Capture and meanwhile Capture is starting to feel outmoded, almost as if he is not moving to keep pace with a changing world and here it Rip fast on his heels! Of course there will be some tension since Rip has all the maturity of a three year old and Capture has the emotional acumen of a turnip.
The thing to do is to freeze Capture for five hundred years and force Rip to grow up on his own. I am convinced this will solve most of my pairings' problems.
