I didn't get to tell you, but your intro vid is a thing of beauty that makes me giggle and go "eee" a lot.

PotR whizzed past my peripheral vision, but I haven't really *watched* it yet. Very much looking forward to intense vid reviewing and commentary this week...when I'm done catching up at work. :p But I love the idea of it, and the musicals have such wonderful luscious colors. Can't wait!

Oh, thank you re: intro vid. As usual, there was just kind of buzzing my ears when it played, so I don't really know how it went over.

PotR was fun to make - as you know from working with Killa, that's a pleasure, plus musicals!

I haven't had the ear-buzzing, but I know what you mean. It never really changes no matter how many times I show a vid at a con: my heart pounds, it seems like the vid moves impossibly slowly (especially looking at "Circles" in this year's show -- it felt positively glacial), and I have no perspective on how it plays in the room. At least I don't throw up anymore!

I love PotR, tremendously much. It makes me want there to be dancing in every movie ever made.

Huzzah! That was the goal. Now if only all my favorite fannish actors would do musicals...

PotR is one of my favorite vids from the con -- such grace in it, you guys make it look easy -- but it's the damn intro song that has been in my head ALL. FREAKING. WEEK.

I hope you're happy with yourself. ;)

There was a post this week about someone who was so intimidated by good writing that she herself stopped writing ff. Viewing PotR could do that to me...if I actually were a vidder :-)

Seriously, that should be the showandtell vid for every newbie who wants to know what being on the beat means. I am in utter awe and need to stop typing now to watch it again...and again...

I loved all the different clips and the way they came together and...lacking the critical faculties and vocabulary, I'll just say Thank you for sharing!!!

And LOL about the intro. Except, I feel utterly embarrassed to ask, but can someone explain the llama thing to me?

Thank you for the compliments on Puttin on the Ritz! We had a great time working out the timing on that one. ;)

As for the llamas - do you want an explanation of where the song comes from, or do you want to know why VividCon has a llama fixation?

From: [identity profile] tzikeh.livejournal.com
Hee!

The song is a parody of this.

The story of VividCon's llama is here.

PotR was delightful!

How much do I love seeing Gene Kelly? Wow. He was one of my very earliest crushes.

And that very last clip had me laughing so hard I cried, seriously. Thank goodness it's lunch time and no one could see me.

I almost fell off KassRachel's couch last night, from laughing at the llama-intro. No lie. I was wheezing. My ears hurt from laughing.

The PotR was really lovely, too -- about halfway through I was wondering "where did she find the huge stockpile of source?" and right after, KR said you'd had a heck of time finding musicals on DVD. Heh. Anyways, it was very very well done.

Next year I am attending the con FOR SURE. I have made a SOLEMN VOW.

You definitely should come to the con!

Killa and I made... great use of Netflix for PotR.

I'm sorry your ears hurt. Except not really. ;)

OMFG the intro has KILLED ME. I am ded. D. E. D. Dead.

First I'm all *snuffle sniffle I hate my homework why did I have to be a responsible grownup and miss the con this year for grad school and oh, wow, thirty years and whoa the vids this con are just going to be wonderful and I really need to finish this homework tonight but I'm so glad I decided to treat myself to just a vid or two because otherwise I'm just going to give up snuffle snuffle sniffle and oh, wow, vidders absolutely amaze me* and then my jaw is on the floor and my ass is falling out of my chair and I can't catch my breath and OMFG you've killed me.

*wheeze*

Thank you. You have no idea how much I needed this this evening.

I wonder if it will cause seizures or anything if I leave it on infinite loop?

Bwahaha! I'm no vidder and live thousands of miles away from the con, so I wondered what it was like when some of my flist went. LOVE the intro vid. Fandom is a strange and wonderful place.

I just love both of these (in quite different ways -- hee). I made [livejournal.com profile] truepenny watch both of them, too, even though she doesn't in general care about vids, and she laughed at the intro and was wowed by PotR. Which is just as it should be.

I *really* want to hear the story of the intro song when you get a chance. *g*

That intro vid is fantastic! Too funny. I wish I could have been at the con to see it "for real" so to speak. PotR was great too (love the song choice!) but I'm not familiar enough with the different fandoms to comment properly.

Hi! [personal profile] were_duck and I are running a vid party in a week's time at Wiscon (a feminist SF convention) and would like to show "Puttin' On The Ritz". The party's pretty informal (we have a room and a projector and we're gonna show vids!) and you don't need to do anything like upload, as we'll just use the large download you've provided. Anyway, we just wanted to check that this is cool with you. Please let us know if it isn't.

Watched "Puttin' On the Ritz" at the History of Club Vivid vidshow yesterday morning, and oh, man, it is every bit as wonderful now as it was the first time I saw it. The breadth of sources, the timing, and the dancing, oh, the dancing! <3

Your vid Puttin' On the Ritz was recced to me, but the download file you have here doesn't seem to work. I tried both large and small and didn't get a usable file. I would love to see it, if you could fix the link.
