Got your attention? Bet I did....
Oct. 6, 2005 — The New York Police Department and FBI are investigating a "credible" tip that 19 operatives have been deployed to the city to place bombs in the subway, and security in the subways has been increased.I want you all to think really, really hard now. When was the last time a "credible threat" to American lives here at home was mentioned on the news? When was the last time we heard about the "terror alert level"? If you said "just before election night", you win a shiny dime.
So, after ALL this time - we get a brand-spanking new threat to the subways in NYC when? When Bush's ratings are in the toilet, the Plame case appears to have legs, Rove's in trouble, Frist's in jeopardy, Delay is in double-jeopardy, the media is still somewhat on the warpath, and a bunch of Republican power-players (some of these included) are on the cover of Newsweek with a headline that screams "POWER OUTAGE".
BOMBS BOMBS IN THE U.S. BOMBS OMG WTF BOMBS IN AMERICA.
Look - if you live in New York city, I beg you to avoid the subway. Who knows; they could be right. It could be true. Proceed with caution. But I am at a point with this administration that I would *not* put it past them to have the NYC subway bombed *themselves* to salvage the unmitigated trainwreck which is this Presidency.
ETA:
On his radio show, Bill O'Reilly likened slavery to immigration. A choice quote:
"My people came from County Cavan in Ireland. All right? And the British Crown marched in there with their henchman, Oliver Cromwell, and they seized all of my ancestors' lands, everything. And they threw them into slavery, pretty much indentured servitude on the land. And then the land collapsed, all right? And everybody was starving in Ireland. They had to leave the country, just as Africans had to leave -- African-Americans had to leave Africa and come over on a boat and try to make in the New World with nothing."
Yeah, let me get this straight, now - the Irish were starving and displaced, so they had to leave. WIth you so far. The Africans were... hunted down, attacked, dragged from homes and families manacled and chained, crammed into ships in boggling numbers for a sea voyage of months... so... they
had to leave Africa.
Well, yeah, they had to, I guess, for maliciously vomit-inducing meanings of "had to".
Think that's too bat-shit insane to be true? There's audio on the linked website. I honestly cannot fathom how anyone could possibly believe anything this man says.
