On the "Leap Day" thread at Metafilter, a few people are talking about a Leap Day thing I've never heard of. Apparently, women often ask random men to marry them on February 29th. Why? I don't know. But this thought came out of it, and that makes it all worthwhile:
Last night my wife warned me that girls might try to propose to me [today]. I had never heard of this custom, which she explained as being "like Sadie Hawkins Day".

That inspiried me to create "Stephen Hawking Day" where anyone can propose to anyone else, provided they do so in a robot voice.

[livejournal.com profile] shrift is a BAD ROOMMATE, because she brings her concert-going pheromones into the place and waves 'em all around.

I am not a concert-goer! I'm not! Except, um, I'm going to see Peter Mulvey, and Pink Martini, and Jeffrey Foucault, and Iron and Wine, and Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, all in the next three months.

(Someone tell me I don't need to see Styx at The Vic, with special guest Koko Taylor. Seriously. I mean it. Tell me I don't need to.)
