[livejournal.com profile] svmadelyn pointed this out, so DON'T BLAME ME:

Amazon.com has gone insane for the next four days. They're having a Black Friday sale, but it runs past Black Friday, ending on November 29th.

I just bought Season 3 of Mad Men for $10.

That is not a typo.

They're putting all kinds of fannish media on sale for ridiculous prices, but some of the deals only last for specific time periods, so you'll want to check the Black Friday Store page, where you can watch the clock count down on each offer.

And don't miss the Lightning Deals Page, where I found this:

Friday, November 26
8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. PST
Casino Royale (Two-Disc Widescreen Edition)
$1.99

Again, not a typo. Two-Disc widescreen Daniel Craig Bond reboot FOR TWO DOLLARS. But only if you buy it between 8:30 and 12:30, PST, tomorrow, Friday, November 26.

An extra $10 this month made a long-desired purchase. HAPPY THANKSGIVING \o/

If you teach high-school English, Language Arts, or Film Studies, or know someone who does, please help me if you can. I need some advice on incorporating a variety of writing assignments into a syllabus I'm planning for a single-semester Film Studies class.

Whoops ETA: important data: 50 minute classes, five times a week, 11th and 12th graders, average kids, and this is for a paper about how to include writing in a non-writing-focused class, not for a class I will be teaching anytime soon, though it will go in my application portfolio.

Significant amount of information about the semester plan under the cut )
