tzikehSo there's a meme going around about ten favorite movie quotes. While I love lists and quotes and such, I find this incredibly difficult to do well, for many reasons - I can't always remember a great line correctly, oftentimes the line is great due to context or delivery and simply quoting it does me no good (c.f. Marcel Marceau saying "Non!" in Silent Movie), or that when I try to think of my favorite lines, I start with my favorite films, and it's quite possible that lines I've adored have come from films I didn't. So - in no particular order:
Top Ten Favorite Lines of Dialog that I Can Think of At the Moment which Aren't All From the Same Movie So There's a Little Balance 'cause I Could Pull All Ten from Lion in Winter if I Wanted To.
1) I've got one just like it in my living room.
2) Whoever wrote this episode should DIE!
3) I am big. It's the pictures that got small.
4) I'm not an actor; I'm a movie star!
5) Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something.
6) I know. You know I know. I know you know I know. We know Henry knows, and Henry knows we know it. We're a knowledgeable family.
7) You're protected by the enormity of your stupidity, for a time.
8) I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.
9) I'll meet you at the place near the thing where we went that time.
10) He looks like that actor fellow... Ralph Bellamy!
And, as a lagniappe: A Quote from a Trailer for a Movie that Looks AWFUL but the Line's Really Funny:
