Colbert went up there in character from the Colbert Report and slammed. I've never seen the room *not laugh* so much in my life. Wow, was he searing. Me, I'm cracking up. Bush and Lady McBush, however, Were Not Amused. No sense of humor, those two.

Damn.

Crooks and Liars has most of it on video. Seriously, I'd try to transcribe it all for you but I can't see due to tears of laughter.

Okay, fine, I'll transcribe some jokes to get you clicking:

On the "liberal media" - "What are you thinking? Reporting on wiretapping, or secret prisons in Eastern Europe? Those things are secret for a very important reason. They're *super-depressing*."

About the claim that the Administration personnel changes are just "re-arranging deck chairs on the Titanic" - "This Administration isn't sinking, it's soaring! If anything, they're re-arranging deck chairs on the HINDENBURG!"

On interviewing Jesse Jackson - "He says whatever he wants - at the pace that he wants. It's like boxing a glacier. Uh - enjoy that metaphor, by the way, because your grandchildren will have no idea what a glacier is."

On Mayor Nagin - "Mayor Nagin is here, from the "chocolate city". Mayor Nagin, I'd like to welcome you to Washington D.C. - the "chocolate city with the marshmallow center."
