Sappy Birthday to Me
May. 31st, 2003 04:17 pmNo, that's not misspelled.
So, I've been having kind of, you know, a day, what with my intestines rebelling against me, saying "Ha! You *thought* you were going to go have a nice dinner at the French bistro across from the movie theatre, but DARE YOU RISK IT NOW? In other words, do you feel *lucky*, punk?", and figuring out how I can afford to buy the apartment I'm currently living in when it goes condo which, according to my landlord, is just a few months away, and I'm 35 pounds up from where I should be, and someone forgot to tell the weather that it's, you know, going to be June tomorrow, and our government is run by Satan, and ...
You get the picture. That kind of day.
But then all sorts of "happy birthday!" messages popped up on my friends list, and it honestly made me feel better. Because even if I lose this place I love so much, I'll find somewhere else to live, and my intestines will stop bugging me eventually, and I can lose the weight if I work at it long enough, and the weather will get better, and ... well, I can hope the voters wise up --
But friends are pretty much the *only* reason to get up in the morning. I know some of you quite well, and some of you hardly at all, but I'm thankful for your acquaintance and your company, regardless. So - cheers to all of you.
