Or look at it this way: Remember Moonlighting. Once the UST is resolved, it's over. And you'll be happier never knowing if it would end up being horrible and heartbreaking, and the ratings would drop, and the good writers would all quit, and... wait. Where was I?

I know, I don't buy it either. But I really do understand. I nursed a *horrible* crush on one of my teachers for years. Enjoy it while you can, suffer and pine and *yearn* hopelessly, and keep me us all posted.

The only crushable profs I ever had were gay (male) and straight (female)*, thus pretty much proving that the universe keeping me out of trouble. Otherwise, I mostly had Daddy fixations on them. Sad, to have just enough self-awareness to know that and not enough to stop it.

(*Also, she was married, and Lucy don' go there. Her husband was kind of cute, though, but he was a bud, and Lucy really don' go there. Not without an engraved invitation.)

Looking back on it, it's amazing and kind of embarrassing how much I was, er, motivated by my hopeless crush on my thesis advisor in grad school. I say, enjoy it for what it is, and if some non-ethically compromising opportunity should arise? Enjoy it even more! :)

I have pretty much always had crushes on my advisors/professors. Starting in junior high and running straight through my both my previous graduate program, and this one. *wry grin*

So. Um. Yes. Enjoy it? If that's even remotely possible. I find it adds a certain zing! to my life to which I've grown kind of addicted...
