57th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' STUPID)
Jun. 9th, 2003 12:08 pmOk, I'm entirely embarrassed by this. I put up an "Ask Me Anything" poll in February, and never got any replies, so I figured no one loved me and I moved on. But apparently, you have to go VIEW THE QUESTIONS ON YOUR OWN, and not expect them to be mailed to you like lj responses.
::bangs head::
So, thank you,
unmisha,
morgandawn,
sockkpuppett,
jorit, and
natlyn, for not blithely unfriending me when I totally failed to answer you.
unmisha -- Are you a research queen, or do you seem to pick things up by osmosis?
I think it's a combination of both. I really do love knowledge and finding things out, and I enjoy reading through books which are simply lists of facts and trivia. I don't have an eidetic memory, so I don't keep entire books in my head, but I have realized (only slowly over many years) that my levels of retention are a bit higher than many other folks'. This includes stuff like being able to remember huge chunks of dialog after seeing a movie or tv episode just once. I know my driver's license number, my checking account number, my credit card numbers, my friends' phone numbers, cell phone numbers, work phone numbers... It's not something I practice; it just is.
morgandawn -- where is God?
I'm not the person to ask, because I don't believe that God is anywhere. I have no belief in any kind of higher power. A longer discussion of "spirituality" and "The interconnectedness of all living things" requires several free evenings in a row and lots of alcohol.
sockkpuppett -- Who's the black private dick that's a sex machine to all the chicks?
SHAFT!
jorit -- explain to me please how vids are "art"
Wow. That's a pretty amazing question - and the answer would have to start with a definition of 'art'. Would you mind terribly if I took some time to craft an essay? Heck, you've waited this long; a few more days shouldn't be a big deal. ;)
natlyn -- Why are peppermint candies red and white, when the plant is green?
Seriously? I think because red symbolizes spicy or sharp-tasting to most people, and green is a cooler color which brings to mind blander foods like lettuce and limes. So it's all psychological. That's my guess; I'd have to look it up (see unmisha's question {g}).
And now, in the same spirit, I'm open for business in the "interview meme". Ask me five questions here in comments, and I'll ask you five back in your lj.

Have this summer's crop of movies, thus far, met your expectations? (Matrix, X-Men, etc.)
You can only choose one to take to a desert island... the complete X-Files or the complete Buffy on DVD. Which and why?
