This is why I never write ANYTHING with a deadline imposed by anyone except me.

I usually plan at least one day out during the final few days before the Remix archive goes live.

No, but I've written stories at work. As well as term papers. Yes, I am a bad worker.

I have taken over the smallest meeting room to write slash over a long lunch break. I'm only a little ashamed.

That's what I do. Heck, I've had coworkers do rush beta jobs.

I would *never* do that.

Heee. No, but back in XF days, when I had more vacation days than I knew what to do with, I used to take the day off after finales in order to read 5000 new newsgroup posts.

Yes, and did I actually get it done? NO.

I go to work and write fic in there. And then I go home and do work-related stuff.

Like, *most days*.

Doesn't everybody?

My vid for last Vividcon was like that. I missed the deadline because I was having ear problems that gave me dizzy spells. These are not the sort of problems that keep me from working. If I keep my head steady and don't look at anything spinny I am okay. But, vidding requires a little bit of the spinny.

So - instead of going in to work to do the stuff I could have actually been doing with not much more aggravation than usual, I stayed home and tried to vid with my eyes closed.

I'm starting to think that it works better that way.

I feel less guilty about it since I was legitimately sick, though.

An abundance of stress will make me sick, threfore legitimately giving me a reason to call in.

Handy.

I have been known to load up on drugs & write like mad to make a challenge deadline.

Since I work from home and on my own schedule, I don't have to. But if I were in an office? I'd totally schedule my vacation time to make sure I got challenges finished. *g*

Hmm, sort of. I have a lot of homework due tonight and Yuletide tomorrow. If it had just been the homework, I probably wouldn't have taken Friday off and would have counted on finishing it over the weekend. But since I had to work on my story over the weekend too, I did homework Friday.

No, but I have asked for an extension (well before the deadline and in an exchange that explicitly permitted them.)

I've left work early. But I did make it there, at least.

If I had a job? Yes. Yes, I would.

As it is, I'm kicking myself for having an appoinment scheduled for right before deadline (I booked it weeks ago). If the clinic I had the appointment with weren't actually closing for good, oh, tomorrow, I would totally cancel. Sigh.
