A Spectacularly Pointless LJ Entry
Jan. 5th, 2003 11:38 pmI feel that if I share this, it will somehow lessen my shallow, meaningless, and yet acute pain.
So, yesterday afternoon, a nice, lazy, Saturday afternoon, there I was, chatting, making lj icons, and playing Bookworm. (Aside: For my addiction to Bookworm, I blame
mlynne and, through her,
flambeau.) I had a pretty excellent game going; I mean, I was racking up the points. I'd never gone this far before. I was churning out the words like Shakespeare, man.
I was on a roll - 1am, 2, 3... I finally signed off of chat but continued to play Bookworm. around 3:30am I thought, I don't need any of these other programs open cluttering up my desktop - just Bookworm. So I quit Fetch, quit Photoshop, quit Explorer...
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!
::banging head on desk::
I quit the fucking browser, which is what operates the pop-up window where you play Bookworm.
What do those studies say about computer games destroying our minds?
Or maybe it's the banging the head on the desk...
