I had a passel of errands to run this morning, which would require taking the Lawrence bus to the Clark bus, doing errands on Clark, walking to Belmont and taking the Belmont bus west, doing errands there, taking the Belmont bus back to the Inner Drive bus and doing errands, and then walking half a mile home. As I was getting ready, I was thinking about how much the Clark bus sucks and never shows up and then three show up at once and I'm going to be standing on Clark in the cold wind waiting FOREVER and blah blah.

I got off the Lawrence bus at Clark, along with a handsome man I'd place in his late forties. As I was walking away to the Clark bus station, he called "Excuse me, miss!" I figured I'd dropped something, so I turned around and he walked up to me and said "You are really pretty - and you have beautiful eyes! I saw your eyes on the bus and I thought, those are really beautiful eyes."

I think I said "Uh..." and then I said "Well, thank you!" And he said "I just wanted to tell you." And he walked away. And waiting for the Clark bus (which, as usual, took forever to arrive) in the cold really wasn't all that bad.

Isn't that a wonderful way to start a Saturday? I hope you all have as lovely a day as I am having.

And now, a Heroes marathon so that [livejournal.com profile] shrift may join us in worshipping Hiro. :-D

Two ETAs:

1) A series of fun cultural literacy tests, including stuff like math, myths, and civics alongside literature and art.

2) Whether or not you like reality shows, I think we all can appreciate this letter to TV Guide:

What is with all these so-called reality series that are usurping some of our favorite shows? If I wanted phony and stupid pretend reality, I'd get married again.

YATTA!

Yeah, who goes up to strangers and compliments them nowadays - I mean, there's always the fear that they'll think you're creepy, to boot. But it was just nice of him.

...and the award for Best Comedic Duo goes to...
