The Phantom Menace. Although, technically, now we're watching "Attack of the Clones".

It's so hard to describe which movie I'm talking about!! B. & her friends use the "Episode" numbers, so I've fallen into that habit, although I found it very very confusing at first. Star Wars "1" will always, and forever mean to me the first movie made.

We've had the original trilogy for years & B.'s seen all of them, but she'd never actually seen the new ones til today (although she bought children's books a couple of years ago & plays Lego Star Wars obsessively so she knows the plots & the names of every. single. character (even the ones with only one or two lines.))

Made me smile that we were sitting here watching it when I saw your post.

I was saying that this morning - fans are going to be out on the streets at 3a.m. with blowtorches, felony or no. I can't imagine a judge giving someone hard time for making off with R2, though - it would just be ridiculous. Though, if that did happen, no one would survive the Great Geek Riots of 2007.

I remember it was May 25 because that's my mom's birthday. Of course, my dad and I thought that a great present would be to take her to see Star Wars with her parents (my brother was four years old and was left at home with a sitter). My dad and I loved it, my mom hated it, and Nana and Poppy fell asleep.

Hee. I remember not seeing it right away, because every time we tried to go, there were lines around the block. I don't think I got in until mid-late July. It's weird to think, these days, it's rare for a movie to stick around even that long, and I know SW was still in theaters that fall.

I hope you're right about the stamps. I want stamps! Because the mailboxes are going to be stolen so fast I'll never get to see one. Maybe they'll send one to the Smithsonian for posterity.

I didn't see it until June or July because of the lines. I saw it 5 times in the theater, a record I didn't break until Blade Runner came out. I was 10 thirty years ago, so you do the math. Yeah. *creaky sigh*
