BSG: Crossroads II

Well. That was... something. I guess.
I know people are saying that this is jump-the-shark time, but I guess I'm willing to tune in to the season premiere (if I'm not dead by then) and see if they stick the landing. At least it appears that the two original driving forces of the show -- 1) Cylons attack humans, and 2) humans want to find Earth -- are back on track for Season 4. I could have done without the Cylon sing-along, but I'm not convinced that those guys *are* Cylons, for a variety of reasons I have to sort of ponder and tease out.
If I had been prosecuting counsel, I would have objected to Lee's testimony on the grounds of Emmy Reel. But then, nothing in the trial remotely resembled any form of our legal system anyway, so....
Finally: Ron Moore, you stole a big bag of whatever it was they were smoking on New Caprica, cut it with some high-grade chamalla, baked it into a giant pie of WTF, and ate it all yourself, didn't you.
DIDN'T YOU.

Date: 2007-03-26 04:46 am (UTC)I'm slow. I had to think "but who is Emmy Reel?" -- and then I got it. Sleep deprived or just plain sick.
I want them to find earth, and not in a 2-hour post cancellation special event movie. So, I'm still on board. Or just not ready to let go.

Date: 2007-03-26 05:13 am (UTC)I'm also not sure they're cylons. My theory is that if they're not cylons, it's somehow related to the nebula. The music gets stronger the closer they get to the nebula, so I'm thinking this may be the next clue. Maybe the four of them have the right DNA to hear the signal and they'll have to work to interpret it in secret because they believe they're cylons.

I forgot! I have no interest in BSG myself; I tape it for a friend who doesn't get SciFi. Ever since they moved it to Sunday, I have the worst time remembering it.
Questions -- if my friend sees up to last week, is that enough of a closure, or will it be a cliffhanger for her? (I'm assuming they'll show this ep again to lead into the fourth season.)
If the answer is, "OMG, she's got to see this one!!!" -- did you tape it, and could you copy it for me? I'll be happy to pay for the tape and postage.

Date: 2007-03-26 06:06 am (UTC)And that was the least of the WTF moments, if you ask me. And I'll have a list of questions tomorrow, not the least of which is "who fathered Tyrol's baby?" if there's been such a folderol about makin' babeees for at least two years. Remember that? Remember when the show made an IOTA OF FUCKING SENSE?
sorry sorry... I'm going to bed now.

I honestly don't know what to think. At all. It's either going to be interesting or the lamest thing in the history of lame things, and I won't know until I see the first episode of Season 4. But I don't think Tyrol, Anders, Tori, and Tigh are Cylons either.
