We apologise to our watchers for interrupting the flow of porn, but our community and its members have been defamed today (emphasis mine), and we feel it is necessary to respond.

The community and its members have been defamed.

Let me repeat that.

The COMMUNITY and its MEMBERS have been defamed. I... what do you say to that? No, in all seriousness, what do you say? The willfully ignorant, self-righteous bullshit makes my stomach turn. How many more people have to point out how offensive the word is? And, since all of this hinges on the meaning of words:

DEFAMATION: A false statement that injures someone's reputation and exposes him to public contempt, hatred, ridicule, or condemnation. If the false statement is published in print or through broadcast media, such as radio or TV, it is called libel. If it is only spoken, it is called slander.

If anyone has lied about anything that daily_deviant, or its users, did, I've yet to see it.

Since I had no idea what was going on here, I had to click through and read the admin post you mentioned here, and I noticed they took the extra-classy, we-really-stand-by-our-words step of disabling comments thereon. Nice job, there.
